St Nicholas' Church Tolleshunt Major is a beautiful Grade I Listed building that stands isolated but accessible, and boasting wonderful views of the Blackwater Estuary, on top of a slight hill to the east of the village. It is a 12th century building with 15th and 16th century alterations and additions including a red Tudor brick tower built by Sir Stephen Beckingham.

We are a lively and enthusiastic Christian community serving the village through services at the church and activities at our newly re-developed Church Room, which we are very excited about!

We are part of the four parishes of the Benefice of North Blackwater, and so Sunday services are shared with the other churches: St Nicholas' Tolleshunt D'Arcy, St Mary the Virgin Tollesbury and St Mary the Virgin Salcott-cum-Virley.

Our Sunday services are at 9.30am on the first and third Sunday of the month with the first being a Communion service and the third Family Worship.

We are committed to Safeguarding children and young people and vulnerable adults.

The PCC has adopted the Church of England's policies and best practice on safeguarding which may be found on the Church of England's website: https://www.churchofengland.org/more/safeguarding, or on the Safeguarding pages of the Chelmsford Diocese: https://www.chelmsford.anglican.org/safeguarding

Details of our Parish Safeguarding Representative can be found on the noticeboard in church.
